Her husband, Jerome Hargrove, and their children, Shanita Jones Cunningham of Villa Rica, Georgia, Jamarcus Jones of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Destiny Jones of Marietta, Georgia, survive her, as do five grandchildren. Darick Jones, Donnell Jones, Marvin Cockrell, Donald Bush, Kenneth Averhart, and Antjawan Jones will serve as pallbearers.

Shirlean Jones passed away on January 16, 2021. Sister Shirlean professed faith in Christ at a young age and joined the Christian Hill M. B. Church (CHMBC) led by Rev. W.M. Shaw. She came under the leadership of Rev. Bobby Bowen after accepting Christ. She served as the CHMBC secretary, the Sunday School director and secretary, the Chairmen of the Personnel and Program Committees, the Head Custodian, and a member of the CHMBC Mass Choir as a member of CHMBC.

She worked as a secretary for the Mississippi Housing Authorities, a marketer and salesperson for Ruth Shop, a lead assembly and data entry specialist for Microtek Medical, a retail manager for Goody’s, and a secretary for Robinson Janitorial.
Married Life
On March 11, 2019, she married Jerome Hargrove in holy matrimony. Shirlean Jones was a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. She was dedicated to her family and church family, and she enjoyed broadening her knowledge and wisdom by pushing herself to try new things. She also enjoyed eating candy, singing and listening to her favorite songs, watching the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers, visiting Georgia and new cities with her close family, and attending all of her children’s accomplishment ceremonies.
